Our gorgeous Zelda has finished her assessments and is now one step closer to finding her forever home! Zelda has come into us from a private home as her owner sadly lacked the time for her due to working away.
When she first came in she was a tad nervous but she has definitely come on in confidence now strolling out onto the fields with her head held high and tail wagging! She can be a bit shy meeting new people at first but she soon comes round so hopefully her new owners can continue her good work and help her meet new people in her new home.
On the lead she generally walks really well, she is quite switched on to her handler and does listen to voice commands which is great when she starts to pull but as she's young and excitable at times she would benefit training going forward to firm up her loose lead walking.
Zelda loves other dogs, big or small she will happily play with them all, she always greets and passes by other dogs with her tail wagging hoping to catch their eye to play 🙂 Her previous owner did say she might be inclined to bark at dogs if they are the opposite side of the street in excitement but certainly no malice.
We have been told that in the home she has her bouncy moments but does settle, she is housetrained, fine to be left up to 4 hours, has a recall, will chase cats if they run but can be scared if they are stationary, she loves cuddles and loves a ball! Zelda also struggles with travelling, her owner said this is likely due to lack of exposure but she shakes in the car so hopefully lots of short, fun, positive trips in the car with her new owner will help her enjoy journies without shaking 🙂
Overall Zelda is a beautiful girl who just needs a bit of confidence and a bit of training and she will be a cracking addition!
