Ideal Home

Our gorgeously handsome boy Nev came into us back in August where he has been under assessment and overcoming some health issues ever since however we can now finally say he is just about ready to find a new home!!

When Nev came into us as a stray he needed vaccinating, castrating and have an operation on his eyes to rectify entropion, we got him in for his eye op and castration in September then he started the recovery which was a little easier said then done with keeping him calm/allowing stitches to heal... there was numerous trips to the vets, several cones of shame lost their lives, sadly there was lots of restricted exercise and a whole heap of medication for him but thankfully he is all healed up now!

After his period of limited exercise Nev's behaviour and excitability became a little too much to handle however with some training and tips from our behaviourist Karen we managed to get on top of him and he is now on his best behaviour... though in typical Bulldog style he does still try and push a few boundaries so he will need an experienced, firm but fair handler.

When Nev first came in his lead work was atrocious, post op it was even worse but now though at times still a work in progress he actually walks well and is definitely more respectful of his handler rather then towing them along like a rag doll.

Nev's favourite thing is people (and food) he is still excitable and does jump up which we are trying to curb but he just loves to say hello to anyone and everything, his tail never stops, he loves lying on his back for a belly rub and also gives the best, if not sloppiest, kisses!

We have tried to make up for lost time when he couldn't do much whilst healing so he has been along the bridlepath for adventures, had a sit in the tractor, rode shotgun in the van to vet, helped out in the office, spent time in the caravan sprawling out on the sofa and playing toys not to mention lots of playtime and zoomies in the playpen!

Nev has walked with and even played with other dogs, he is amazing with them even when they don't seem to like him he has no reaction towards them whatsoever. Nev could well live with another dog in the home otherwise he would be quite happy as an only dog.

Overall Nev is a big cuddly pudding who does need boundaries and would need some further training but his temperament and progress he has made here has shown he has so much potential!

We will really miss seeing this big smushface in kennels but we really can't wait to see him happy, settled and living his best life in his forever home!
