Little Ava has come into us from another rescue pretty shut down, she was pretty petrified and withdrawn when she first arrived but as each day passes we see more of her personality shine through so we are now on the search for her new home to continue her journey and build bonds with her new owner.

Ava is timid meeting new people, more so of men, we are working on her relationship with men with our male staff and for the most part she is improving but there is definitely a lack of trust with men. With women she warms up much quicker, at first she can seem a shy and retiring but she knows you she's a bit of a fruitloop, wanting to be as close as she can, jumping up, wanting to give you kisses and wanting all of the attention you can give! We are looking for someone to help Ava and her fears of men, perhaps with some socialisation classes to build up her overall confidence may help first and foremost.

On the lead she does walk well, she is walked by some of the male staff but she does struggle when too much eye contact is given which causes her to panic so she would benefit a female handler to take confidence in out in the big scary world.

In the playpen she might occasionally chase a toy but she's far more interest in sniffs and getting loves from her human, if you want a cuddly overgrown puppy she could be the one for you as sometimes she can barely contain herself with excitement!

Ava has been good with dogs she has met here, it may even benefit her being in a home with an existing dog to take lead from however she would thrive in a dog free home having all the 1-2-1 time to herself.

With some work, confidence and someone she trusts Ava will be an amazing girl!
