Ideal Home

Our gorgeous boy Apollo has very sadly been returned to us so is now looking for another home 🙁 He originally came into us in 2021 as a stray, it did take him a while to find a home but he did eventually where he has been living ever since. Full details will be disclosed to those interested in rehoming Apollo but we can say the reason for him coming back to us is absolutely no fault of his own.

As you might be able to tell from the photos, Mr Apollo is severely overweight being over 10kg heavier then when he left us, our vets have strongly advised us to get some weight off him for the sake of his health and joints, so his diet is changing to a lighter variety and boot camp has started - bless him!

Apollo is and always has been one of the most friendly, loving and social dogs, he loves everyone but sometimes a bit too much as he can at times be boisterous and does jump up so he will need a home with no small children as he really has no concept of how big he is!

We will be looking for a fairly active home for this handsome boy, he does have a lot of energy and will probably have more once he shifts some weight too, so a home that can take him on lots of lovely long walks and adventures would be perfect! On the lead he generally walks well though he can be strong at times especially if a sniff is calling his name but with an experienced handler and a bit of correction he comes back to you with ease.

In the playpen he loves to have a good run round, he loves toys with his favourite being a tennis ball and once playtime is done it's time for cuddles, fuss and kisses which he is happy to provide plenty of!

Apollo does get on with and is very friendly towards other dogs though he is though he can be very over the top with them, wanting to play. We would probably suggest him being the only dog in the home as this is what he has been used to and just have doggy friends out on his walks.

We have been told that he is housetrained, fine to be left for up to 4 hours, does need work on recall and is generally very friendly with people and dogs.

UPDATE 25/09/24 - Apollo has been in fitness boot camp since being returned to us and has already lost nearly 5kg and looking much trimmer and can now chase a ball without puffing like a train 🙂 Poor boy is still on the lookout for a new home and desperately wants to leave kennels in his rear view mirror after living in a home for the last 2 and half years 🙁 He was returned through no fault of his own - he just didn't fit into the new family dynamic. He waited such a long time for his first chance so we are really hoping he doesn't have to wait as long this time around.
