Ideal Home

Abi arrived with her sister Dilly a few weeks ago now and is approx 7 months old. She came into us from another rescue so no history is known. She is a large young crossbreed with a gentle and sensitive nature. Abi can be a little nervous around new people and new things but is learning all the time and settling in well. She's such a good girl when popping on her harness to go for a walk she sits nicely and allows you to do it.
Overall she is fairly good on the lead for a young dog but sometimes stops or falls behind a little and needs gentle encouragement to keep going this will need continuing in her new home. Abi will need the full gambit of training to get her up to speed with all the basics and her manners etc but is loving and eager for fuss and attention once she feels safe and comfortable with you. When out and about on her walks we've seen mixed behaviour around other dogs. Some she walks beautifully with and others she barks at. Her barking is not aggression but her socialisation skills around other dogs will need worked on in her new home to give her confidence going forward. She will be very happy being an only dog and treated to all the fuss and hugs she can get. Possibly could live with another calm older dog if temperaments suit to show her the ropes.
She's just starting to grasp what toys are about yet bless her but loves a good zoomie round the playpen. As Abi is a young dog she will need an active home/lifestyle with someone who has the time an patience to give her.
A home that has experience with nervous shy dogs would be really beneficial. Abi can get spooked easily with noises and quick movements so a calm gentle approach with her is a must when meeting new people.
Abi would love calm space with a secure garden where she can explore and relax safely. Ideally a home with no children or much older children where they can be respectful of her boundaries and give her the space and time she needs.
.A quieter household without too much commotion would help her settle faster.
Like her sister, Abi is a super sweet young pup who deserves a loving home with gentle handing, patience and understanding. With the right care and attention Abi has the potential to blossom into a loyal affectionate companion.
